For information, use this link:  Sons of the American Revolution.  I am not including their
complete requirements here because I cannot speak for the Society.
Basically, you need an ancestor who served in the American Revolutionary War.. (See the
Note at the bottom of this page.)
Click on the "Membership" menu at the
Sons of the American Revolution site to see if you are
qualified.
Samuel HAYES is my 4th Great Grandfather and my Qualifying Ancestor for the Sons of the American
Revolution
. He was born on 26 Mar 1730 in Simsbury, Connecticut and died there on 25 Dec 1801. He married
Rosanna HOLCOMB (my 4th Great Grandmother) in 1750.
Samuel HAYES served as a Captain in the 18th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American
Revolutionary War.

Note:
There is a great deal of similarity between the Sons of the American Revolution and the Sons of the
Revolution
besides their names. The membership requirements are almost but not identical and they both
require a Qualifying Ancestor who was involved in the American Revolution.. A great number of
members of one are also members of the other and it is possible to use the same Qualifying Ancestor to
join both.

However, they are two separate and distinct organizations!
