their complete requirements here because I cannot speak for the Society.
    Basically, you need two qualifying ancestors, the first of which (Founder) was in one of the
Colonies that became the United States prior to 13 May 1657. Your second ancestor (Patriot)
must have served in the Revolutionary War. In addition, the blood line from the Founder to the
Patriot must be in an unbroken male line and that male line must continue down almost to you.

Thomas HEWITT is my 8th Great Grandfather and my Founding Ancestor for the Order of Founders and
Patriots of America.
Where and when he was born is unknown. What we do know is that he married Hannah
PALMER (my 8th Great Grandmother) on 26 Apr 1659 in Stonington, Connecticut and was lost at sea in 1662.
Asa HEWITT is my 4th Great Grandfather and my Patriot Ancestor for the OF&PA. He was born 16 Oct 1761
in Stonington, Connecticut and served as a Private in the Connecticut Militia during the Revolutionary War. He
was married to Mary NEWTON on 23 Nov 1786 in Stafford, Connecticut and died on 5 Jul 1824
